Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is Soul Echo Therapy?
Soul Echo Therapy is an integrative healing practice in Phoenix, Arizona that combines clinical sound therapy, hypnotherapy, EMDR, IEMT, and nervous system regulation techniques to help people create meaningful emotional change.
The work is designed to support people dealing with stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, trauma responses, emotional overwhelm, confidence issues, life transitions, and patterns that feel hard to change through willpower alone.
At Soul Echo Therapy, the goal is not to treat everyone the same. Each session is designed around the person, their nervous system, their history, and what they are ready to work through.
Who is Soul Echo Therapy for?
Soul Echo Therapy may be a good fit for people who are dealing with stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, emotional overwhelm, trauma responses, confidence issues, self-worth struggles, life transitions, or repeating emotional patterns.
It may also be helpful for people who feel like they understand their problem logically, but still feel stuck emotionally or physically.
Is Soul Echo Therapy medical treatment?
No. Soul Echo Therapy does not replace medical care, mental health treatment, diagnosis, medication, or emergency services.
The work is designed to support emotional wellness, stress reduction, nervous system regulation, and personal growth. If you are under the care of a doctor, therapist, psychiatrist, or other healthcare provider, you should continue following their guidance.
What is Clinical Sound Therapy?
Clinical sound therapy uses sound, vibration, rhythm, frequency, and resonance in a structured way to support relaxation, nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and mind-body balance.
At Soul Echo Therapy, sound is used intentionally. It is not simply background music. It may be integrated with hypnotherapy, guided work, breath awareness, emotional regulation, or other therapeutic techniques to help the body shift out of stress and into a calmer state.
Is clinical sound therapy the same as traditional therapy??
No. Soul Echo Therapy is different from traditional talk therapy. While conversation may be part of the process, sessions are designed to work with the nervous system, subconscious patterns, emotional responses, and the body’s stress response.
Many people come to Soul Echo Therapy because they want support that goes beyond talking about the problem. They want to help the mind and body respond differently.
How is clinical sound therapy different from a sound bath?
A sound bath is often designed for relaxation, meditation, or general wellness. Clinical sound therapy is more personalized and intentional.
At Soul Echo Therapy, sound is used as part of a focused therapeutic process. The session may be designed around stress, anxiety, grief, trauma responses, emotional overwhelm, confidence, or nervous system regulation.
The difference is intention, structure, and personalization. Our sessions are private 1:1 format.
How does sound affect the nervous system?
Sound can influence the body through rhythm, vibration, breath, attention, and emotional association. Certain sounds and rhythmic patterns may help the nervous system shift toward a calmer, more regulated state.
When the body feels safer, it can become easier to relax, focus, process emotions, and respond differently to stress.
What does clinical sound therapy feel like?
Many people describe clinical sound therapy as calming, grounding, peaceful, or deeply relaxing. Some feel physical sensations such as warmth, heaviness, lightness, tingling, emotional release, or a sense of stillness.
Each person’s experience is different. The goal is not to force a certain feeling. The goal is to support your nervous system in a way that feels safe and helpful.
Do I need musical experience to benefit from clinical sound therapy??
No. You do not need to be musical, understand music, or have any special experience with sound therapy. Clinical sound therapy works with your body’s natural response to sound, rhythm, vibration, and resonance.
You only need to be open to the experience.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the therapeutic use of hypnosis to help create change in thoughts, emotions, habits, stress responses, and subconscious patterns.
In a hypnotherapy session, you are guided into a calm, focused state where your mind may become more open to positive suggestions, new perspectives, and emotional change.
Hypnotherapy is not sleep, mind control, or losing awareness. You remain in control.
What does hypnotherapy feel like?
Hypnosis often feels like deep relaxation, focused attention, or being absorbed in an inner experience. Some people feel very calm. Some feel light or heavy. Some hear every word. Others feel like time moves quickly.
You do not have to feel “out of it” for hypnosis to be working. Many people are aware during the entire session.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
No. You cannot get stuck in hypnosis. Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention that people move in and out of regularly.
If a session were interrupted, you would naturally return to ordinary awareness or simply relax for a short time and come back on your own.
Is hypnosis mind control?
No. Hypnosis is not mind control. You cannot be forced to do something against your values or beliefs.
Hypnotherapy works best when you are willing, comfortable, and actively participating in the process. You remain in control throughout the session.
What can hypnotherapy help with?
Hypnotherapy may help support change in areas such as anxiety, stress, confidence, emotional regulation, sleep, habits, fears, grief, performance anxiety, self-worth, and repeating subconscious patterns.
It is not a magic wand and does not replace medical or mental health treatment. It can be a powerful complementary tool for helping the mind and body respond differently.
What is EMDR?
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a structured therapeutic approach that uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or sound, to help the brain process distressing memories, emotional triggers, and trauma-related responses.
At Soul Echo Therapy, EMDR may be used when appropriate to support emotional healing and nervous system regulation.
What is IEMT?
IEMT stands for Integral Eye Movement Therapy. It is a change-work method that uses specific eye movement patterns to help shift emotional responses, identity-based patterns, and unwanted feelings connected to past experiences.
IEMT may be helpful for people who feel stuck in emotional reactions, old patterns, or identity stories that no longer serve them.
What is the difference between EMDR and IEMT??
EMDR is often used to help process distressing memories and trauma-related responses. IEMT focuses more on emotional imprints, identity patterns, and how certain feelings are stored and triggered.
Both approaches may use eye movements, but they are different methods with different structures and goals.
What happens during a session?
A session usually begins with a conversation about what you are experiencing and what you want to work on. From there, the session may include clinical sound therapy, hypnotherapy, EMDR, IEMT, breath awareness, guided imagery, nervous system regulation, or emotional processing.
Each session is personalized. The approach depends on your goals, your comfort level, and what your nervous system seems to need.
How much does hypnotherapy or clinical sound therapy cost??
The cost of sessions at Soul Echo Therapy depends on what you need, what you are working through, and which approach may best support your goals. Because every person’s nervous system, life experience, and healing process is different, we do not believe in guessing before we understand your situation.
That is why we offer a free phone consultation before recommending anything. During that call, we can learn more about what you are experiencing, answer your questions, and help you understand whether hypnotherapy, clinical sound therapy, EMDR, IEMT, or an integrative approach may be the best fit.
Your care should be based on your needs, not a one-size-fits-all package.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions you may need depends on your goals, your history, your nervous system, and the depth of the work you want to do. Some people come in for stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, confidence, emotional regulation, or life transitions. Others are working through patterns that have been present for a long time.
At Soul Echo Therapy, we do not guess or place you into a plan before speaking with you. That is why we offer a free phone consultation first. Once we understand what you are experiencing and what you want to change, we can help guide you toward a session plan that feels appropriate and supportive.
The goal is not to force a formula. The goal is to create care that fits you.

What should I expect during my first session?
Your first session is designed to help us understand your goals, your history, your current challenges, and what kind of support may be most helpful.
You do not have to have everything figured out before you come in. Many people simply know they feel overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, burned out, or ready for change. That is enough to begin.
Do I need to prepare before my session?
You do not need to do anything complicated before your session. It can help to think about what you want support with, what you would like to feel instead, and any patterns you have noticed in your emotions, stress, sleep, relationships, or confidence.
For virtual sessions, choose a quiet space where you can sit or lie down comfortably without being interrupted.
Will I be emotional during a session?
You may be. Some people feel emotional release during or after a session, especially when working with grief, trauma responses, stress, or long-held emotional patterns.
Emotional release is not forced. Sessions are designed to support you at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
